The website modjito.com
The website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or advertising tools, and loads no fonts or scripts from other providers. The video comes from our own server, too.
Like any website, the server keeps a log of each request: IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser, and operating system. This is needed to run the site and protect it from attacks. The logs are kept only as long as needed for that.
The app app.modjito.com
Demo
You don’t need an account for the demo. So the demo knows it’s you, it sets a cookie (modjito_sid). Whatever you change in the demo, like notes, snippets, or layouts, only applies to your demo and is deleted after 24 hours. The people in the demo channel are made up.
Logging in with Twitch
You log in with your Twitch account. Twitch then gives Modjito your Twitch ID, user name, display name, and profile picture, plus the permissions you confirm when logging in. Modjito doesn’t receive your email address or password.
So Modjito can moderate on your behalf, it stores your Twitch access keys (tokens), encrypted. After you log in, the app sets a cookie (modjito_sid) that lasts 30 days. During login, up to three more cookies are set briefly and expire after 10 minutes.
Data of the channels you moderate
For the channels where you’re a mod or the broadcaster, Modjito stores what the mod team needs to moderate:
- Chat messages with user name and time, because Twitch doesn’t provide a history. They’re deleted after 90 days.
- Mod actions like timeouts, bans, warnings, and deleted messages, with reason and mod (mod log).
- The team’s notes on individual users.
- Raids, raid targets, snippets, templates, and layouts.
This includes data about viewers in the chat. Modjito processes it so the mod team can moderate the channel. Only the mods of that channel can see it.
Storage in your browser
The app remembers some settings directly in your browser, like the language, filters, or the size of the user card. This data stays on your device.
Content from Twitch
When you open a real channel, the app loads the stream player, the Twitch chat, profile pictures, and emotes directly from Twitch. Twitch receives your IP address and may set its own cookies. Twitch’s privacy notice applies to that. Twitch Interactive, Inc. is based in the USA. The demo loads nothing from Twitch.
Where the data is stored
- The website is hosted by Infomaniak Network SA in Switzerland.
- The app and its database are hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, on a server in Germany.
Both process the data only on Modjito’s behalf. Modjito doesn’t sell data or pass it on for advertising.
Legal basis
Modjito follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where it applies to users in the EU, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Processing is based on the use you request by logging in (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and on the legitimate interest in moderating channels and running the website and app securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
How long
- Chat messages: 90 days.
- Demo: 24 hours.
- Login: 30 days after your last login, then you need to log in again.
- Account and channel data like the mod log, notes, and snippets: as long as you or the channel use Modjito. On request, we delete it sooner.
Your rights
You can ask at any time what data Modjito stores about you and have it corrected or deleted. You can object to the processing and get your data in a common format. To do so, write to the email address above.
You can also complain to a supervisory authority: in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), in the EU the authority of your country.
Changes
If something about Modjito changes, we update this page. The version shown here applies.
